Somen is the thinnest variety of noodles in Japan, widely popular in the country. The primary composition of Somen is flour; other popular types are Ramen, Udon, and Soba. It can be enjoyed either cold or hot, with the latter served with a rich dashi broth and the former dipped in Mentsuyu, a Japanese noodle soup base.

Cook the noodles in boiling water for 3-5 minutes. Then flush the noodles and drain. The noodles are now ready to be added to your favourite dishes.
