This black bean paste is called "Chunjang" in Korea, literally means “spring sauce” It has a perfect balance of savory and sweet flavors, usually used for making the sauce for jjajangmyeon, but this Assi's jajang sauce is already stir fried, it can be used right away without stir frying the traditional chunjang in oil to make jajangmyeon. But it's also suitable in many other dishes as well. Try to combine it with roast pork or vegan Mock Pork, as well as cubes of potatoes, carrots and onions for a rich and warming dish!
