Zongzi Sticky Rice Dumpling 50% Fillings 280g

For this year's Dragon Boat Festival on 10th June, we have selected also a premium version of Zongzi rice dumplings from the Brand Wu Fang Zhai which offers extra fillings, almost 50% of the Zongzi is filled with deliciousness!

Available from May to June, these Zongzi Rice Dumplings are made with glutinous rice, stuffed with stewed pancetta or salted egg yolk, then wrapped in bamboo leaves to form a pyramid shape. When steamed or cooked in water, the final result is always satisfying: the sweet rice absorbs the grease of the pork, the cured egg yolk or pancetta adds an explosion of umami, and the aroma of the bamboo leaves infuses into the rice, leaving a note of freshness.

Without loosing the string and the bamboo leaves: Steam for 20 minutes with the lid on; or cook in water for 15-20 minutes. Count the time from when the water starts to boil. You can also pan-fry the Zongzi after it is cooked: in this case, remove the bamboo leaves and cut the Zongzi into thick slices of about 2cm, fry over medium heat with a little oil, until a golden and crunchy crust is formed on the outside.
